WeiPoints #04: My heart is full <3

Since I spent the book’s publication day in the airport, I had my own little airport celebration in honor of its release :)

Hello from New Zealand! Or in Māori that would be Kia Ora! I am currently on New Zealand’s North Island with National Geographic Expeditions, exploring the almost absurd variety of geological environments all packed into one small country.

We’ll dive into more of the gorgeous landscape and its fascinating history in a future edition of WeiPoints. BUT (!!!) right now I’m popping into your inbox with a brief thank you and a shameless request:

First the thanks: From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a copy of WHAT A ROCK CAN REVEAL! As of February 29, the book is being shipped worldwide and I can’t express how much joy I’ve gotten from all the pictures of everyone and their kiddos reading about rocks.

Now for the request: If you enjoyed your copy of WHAT A ROCK CAN REVEAL, would you be willing to write a short review of the book on Amazon?

I know none of us want to support Amazon, but unfortunately the company has a chokehold on book sales. And reviews help play the game of Amazon’s evil algorithms to get the book out to a wider audience.

By leaving a review, you’ll also be elevated to ROCK star status! While I can’t promise any concerts for my ROCK stars, you will have my eternal gratitude and a slew of random rock facts whenever we cross paths. (If you really want to rock your stardom, you can also copy your review over to Goodreads :)

Thank you again for all of your support. I’ve loved hearing from all of you about the book. As the title of this newsletter says, my heart is full <3

The view from the shores of New Zealand’s lake Rotorua — the water fills a great depression created in the landscape by a mighty volcanic eruption some 20,000 years ago.
